| Complaint |
Since making aliyah some 18 months ago I have desisted from watching you English TV News. However, today I happened to be with some friends to celebrate Yom Herut Yerushalim and I wish to express my concern at the way Yom Yerushalim was covered.
Firstly, you reporter at Ammunition Hill did not present a report which should have reflected the views of the majority of Anglo Saxon Olim and Israeli citizens, but more of a report which CNN or the BBC would put out which contained a negative approach.
Secondly, the interview with Abraham Rabinovitch where his views on the current and future status of Jerusalem were sought by the newscaster had no place on Yom Yerushalim as they were political opinion. He should have been interviewed only about historical events which is his forte. We also don't expect IBA to tell us that his book is available on Amazon.
Somehow you managed to show a negative attitude rather than one which was positive. How about showing the Tefillah for this unique day that took place in Beit Knesset throughout the land? What about the Flag March which started at 3 pm - whay was it not reported? If we don't have sovereign rights to Jerusalem we certainly don't have any rights to Tel Aviv! After all we still are a Jewish State and not a State of Jews!
Furthermore, we all know why ex President Katsav was put in prisonr - so there was no reason for pushing the point or even covering his furlong - what poor editorial choice.
As one who was engaged in Hasbara activities in the UK for several decades, I find your news program little better than the BBC TV News on Israel!
Please regard this as a formal complaint and advise me the procedure as to how this complaint will be investigated.
